How to setup Autofile for Louisiana
License Types
For sales tax purposes, Louisiana has three different license types.
- Remote Seller: Seller has no physical presence in the state but makes more than $100,000 in annual sales or has 200 or more transactions in the state. This is most common among Shopify merchants.
- Direct Marketer: Seller has no physical presence in the state, Seller is not a remote seller or remote retailer, Seller voluntarily registered to collect tax.
- Standard: The seller has physical presence (e.g. people, property) in the state.
- You can learn more about the license type from the official remote seller site.
Depending on your license type, there are different ways to file your sales tax.
Remote Seller
- File through the Remote Sellers website. Please provide your remote seller tax ID, and the email address you used to register on the Remote Sellers website.

- For your remote seller tax ID, you can find it following these steps.
- Click Home.
- Click Account Numbers.

- Find your remote seller tax ID in the Account No. column.

- For your remote seller email, you can find it following these steps.
- Hover on Account Center.
- Click My Account.
- You can find your remote seller email under User Information.

Direct Marketers
File through the LaTAP. Please provide your sales tax ID, zipcode, and last payment. There is a fixed combined sales tax rate of 8.45% for all sales.

Standard
State tax: LaTAP. Please provide your sales tax ID, zipcode, and last payment. There is a fixed state sales tax rate of 4.45% for all states.
File local tax through the Parish E-file website. Please provide the email address you used to register on the Parish E-file website.
Approve Third-Party Access Request
Once Sidr Tax submits an access request to your accounts, you will receive a notification by email. Please login to your account to accept our request.
