# How to register for a sales tax permit in South Dakota

| Sidr Tax creates the sales tax account for you. However, this state requires that you have your own login.

### Create your [South Dakota EPath](https://apps.sd.gov/RV23EPath/Login.aspx) login

[South Dakota EPath](https://apps.sd.gov/RV23EPath/Login.aspx) is the South Dakota system for sales tax filing. After Sidr Tax applies for a sales tax permit on your behalf, you will also receive your South Dakota sales tax ID, and filing frequency in the mail.

Once you receive your sales tax ID, and filing frequency in the mail, you can create a login at [South Dakota EPath](https://apps.sd.gov/RV23EPath/Login.aspx) to access your sales tax account.
