# How to register for a sales tax permit in North Dakota

| Sidr Tax creates the sales tax account for you. However, this state requires that you have your own login and we access your account as a third-party.

### Create your [ND TAP](https://apps.nd.gov/tax/tap/_/) login

The [ND TAP](https://apps.nd.gov/tax/tap/_/) is the North Dakota system for sales tax filings. After Sidr Tax finishes your registrations, you will receive your sales tax ID, filing frequency in the mail.
Once you receive your sales tax ID, filing frequency and registration code, please create a login at [ND TAP](https://apps.nd.gov/tax/tap/_/) to access your sales tax account.

Once you finish creating your [ND TAP](https://apps.nd.gov/tax/tap/_/) account, you will receive an authorization code in the mail. If you need it when you log on for the first time. Please setup Autofile **after** you have successfully logged on.
