# How to register for a sales tax permit in New York State

| Sidr Tax creates the sales tax account for you. However, this state requires that you have your own login and we access your account as a third-party.

### Create your [New York DTF Online Service](https://www.tax.ny.gov/online/createaccount.htm#bus) Login

[New York DTF Online Service](https://www.tax.ny.gov/online/createaccount.htm#bus) is the New York State system for filing sales tax. After Sidr Tax applies for a sales tax permit on your behalf, you will receive your New York State sales tax ID, filing frequency, and 5-digit security PIN in the mail. You can also see your sales tax ID within the Sidr Tax app. You can access that information by going to the [registration page](https://tax.sidr.io/registrations) and clicking on the details button.

Once you receive your sales tax ID, filing frequency, and 5-digit security PIN in the mail, you can create a login at [New York DTF Online Service](https://www.tax.ny.gov/online/createaccount.htm#bus) to access your sales tax account.

After creating the New York DTF Online Service account, you will be able to access the New York State Sales Tax Webfile through [this link](https://www.tax.ny.gov/online/).
