# How to register for a sales tax permit in New Mexico

| Sidr Tax creates the sales tax account for you. However, this state requires that you have your own login and we access your account as a third-party.

### Create your [New Mexico TAP](https://tap.state.nm.us/tap/_/) Login

After Sidr Tax finishes your registration, we will provide you with your account credentials. You can access that information by going to the [registration page](https://tax.sidr.io/registrations) and clicking on the details button. You will receive an email confirmation from NM DOR regarding your online login. You will also receive your sales tax ID and filing frequency from the mail. 

Once you receive your sales tax ID and filing frequency, you will be able to create a login at [New Mexico TAP](https://tap.state.nm.us/tap/_/) to access your sales tax account.
