# How to register for a sales tax permit in Mississippi

| Sidr Tax creates the sales tax account for you. However, this state requires that you have your own login and we access your account as a third-party.

### Sales Tax or Use Tax

If you have a physical location or payroll in the state of Mississippi, you need a Sales Tax license. Otherwise, you need a Use Tax license.

### Login to [Mississippi TAP](https://tap.dor.ms.gov) to Access Your Sales Tax Account

After Sidr Tax applies for a sales tax permit on your behalf, you will receive your Mississippi sales tax ID, and filing frequency in the mail.
You can also see your [Mississippi TAP](https://tap.dor.ms.gov) username and password from [the registrations page](https://tax.sidr.io/registrations). Click on the **Details** button of your Mississippi registration.
Once you receive your sales tax ID and filing frequency in the mail, use the credentials we provide you to login to [Mississippi TAP](https://tap.dor.ms.gov).
