# How to register for a sales tax permit in Georgia

| If your state is registered through Streamlined Sales Tax, read [this guide](/en-us/article/streamlined-sales-tax-9bebpb/).
| Sidr Tax creates the sales tax account for you. However, this state requires that you have your own login and we access your account as a third-party.

After Sidr Tax applies for a sales tax permit on your behalf, you will receive your sales tax ID in the mail.

### Create you [Georgia Tax Center](https://gtc.dor.ga.gov/) Login

If you can see your username, and password to the [Georgia Tax Center](https://gtc.dor.ga.gov/) by going to the [registration page](https://tax.sidr.io/registrations) and clicking on the details button, your account is ready and you can skip to the access section below.

### Access your [Georgia Tax Center](https://gtc.dor.ga.gov/) Account

Login to the [Georgia Tax Center](https://gtc.dor.ga.gov/) with your username and password. You will be asked to setup 2-factor authentication the first time you login so that you will be the only one with access to the account.
