How to add a payment method via Stripe

Update Payment Methods in Sidr Tax


Disclaimer: If you remain on an older Shopify subscription plan, an additional 15% Shopify platform fee will apply starting on March 31, 2026. This fee will be passed through entirely to Shopify. To have this fee waived, please add a Stripe payment method in your Sidr Tax account.


Sidr Tax has partnered with Stripe to offer a modern and secure payment system. This enhancement allows you to manage and update your subscription payment method with ease, using either a connected US bank account or a credit card.


To begin, navigate to your Settings page from the left-hand panel of your Sidr Tax dashboard.

Scroll down below the plans and click Add Payment Account to open the payment setup window.

Stripe Connection for Bank Account (recommended)



To connect your bank account through Stripe:

  1. Within the pop-up window, select Pay by secure ACH as your payment option.
  2. Enter the email address associated with your bank account and your full name.
  3. Then search for your bank using the search bar.
  4. Choose the bank account you want to connect for payments, then click Agree and continue.
  5. Log in and then select the specific account you want to use, then click Connect account.
  6. Follow the remaining prompts to finish the connection process, and then click Set up bank account.


Linking a bank account


Once completed, your Stripe-linked bank account will be available for automatic billing by Sidr Tax.


Manual Bank Add


If your bank doesn't show up in search or cannot be connected through Stripe, or if you prefer manual entry, you can add your account details manually.


  1. From the Stripe checkout page, click the link labeled Enter bank details manually located just above the "Set up bank account" button.
  2. Manually enter your routing and account number (and confirmation repeat of your account number).
  3. After entering your information, click Start setup to initiate a micro-deposit verification.
  4. Within 1-2 business days, you will receive a deposit in your bank account and you will receive an email with further instructions to complete the verification.


If you do not receive the verification email within this time frame, please reach out to Sidr Tax Support so we can look into the issue and assist you further.


Once verified, your manually added bank account will appear as an active payment method for your subscription.


Credit Card


To add a credit card as your payment method:

  1. In the same pop-up window, select Or pay by Credit Card.
  2. Enter your credit card details in the Stripe checkout page that follows.
  3. Click Save to confirm and complete setup.


Your credit card will then be saved and used automatically for future subscription charges.
